What Causes Bed Bugs ?

| Bed Bug |
Bedbugs are found in temperate and tropical climates
worldwide. They are most commonly found
in living quarters where their host resides. Bedbugs hide in the seams and
crevices of mattresses and box springs, bed frames, headboards, old furniture,
and in spaces underneath baseboards or behind loose wallpaper. Clutter and
disarray also provide additional hiding places for bedbugs.
Bedbugs may be transported from one location to another
via luggage, furniture, clothing, and used mattresses. Although they are often associated with unsanitary living
conditions, bedbug infestations also occur in clean, well-maintained living
quarters, including five-star hotels and resorts. Bedbug infestations have been increasingly reported in hotels,
dormitories, homes, apartments, nursing homes, jails, and hospitals. There have
been several cases in the U.S. involving litigation because of bedbug
infestations.
Bedbugs are a dangerous type of insect and cause severe
scars while biting. Not just about mattress cleanliness, a study explains the
cause of the occurrence of bedbugs.
Some people say that bedbugs can arise from too long
mattresses and uncomfortable yarns for the skin. However, a study published in
the Journal of Medical Entomology made the study by examining the bedspread
colors favored by the insects. The researchers placed pieces of cards with eight different colors on a bed.
The result, for 10 minutes the lice choose black and red.
"Some factors we can conclude why insects preferred
because they eat red blood," u Corraine
McNeill, an assistant professor at Union College. However, there are also other
factors where red will be a safe place for them to hide because it is almost
the same color they have.
As for the black color, scientists say insects naturally
look for darkness. Therefore, these insects are usually active at night and
hide in the corner of the mattress. So that at night can come out to get blood
from humans. "Insects use visual cues for behaviors such as finding pairs
and looking for protection," says McNeill.
The cause of the occurrence of bedbugs makes you need to think about the colors used
on the sheets. Especially if you already see a bedbug at home. Use bright
colors because insects tend to avoid this. Mama also had to disassemble the
mattress when feeling the presence of bedbugs in the mattress. Clean the
mattress from the insect egg.
Before World War II, bedbug infestations
were common; however, after the widespread introduction of the use of the
insecticide DDT in the mid-20th century, bedbug infestations became much less
common. The recent resurgence in bedbug infestations worldwide is thought to be
related to several different factors, including the increase in international
travel, dense urban living conditions, insecticide resistance, and new,
ineffective pest-control measures.
